I'm a self-absorbed Bengali-Torontonian;
Fish comes to me raw, wrappend in seaweed, not cooked in curry;
I love watching thunderstorms and rain;
Sad endings make more sense to me than happy ones;
I hate empty walls.

    Thanks! You are my visitor number,

    Hello BC!

    It'll be 6 days that I've been in sunny Vancouver. Yes its still sunny and just gorgeous.
    Not being smug or anything but I feel like I've been here longer. Maybe its taking the bus everywhere- its a sure thing to make you at home. The west coast has been friendly; at times too friendly. Walk around with a pop-out map and people are eager to give you directions, even bad ones that require too much walking. We all know I hate the actual walking around for hours part of exploring a new city. I need frequent breaks.

    Its been 5 nights spent at my new home with a bunch of strangers. First night I got to spend at a beautiful penthouse in the middle of downtown. Don't ask. I know people who know people :)
    Anyway, my new roomies have been very sweet and laid back. I love the house- not too pretty on the outside but spacious inside. Its very weird cooking in a kitchen where you own none of the utensils while pretending they are yours....to the point that you almost burn the house down while making tea. Everyone has been too kind. Its an interesting house. I esp like the laundry in a basement room- very 'Silence of the Lambs'.

    My room is on the second floor and quiet bare now- just a calender on the wall so far. I havn't unpacked anything- not ready for it yet. Got an air mattress thats slowly losing air- thankfully its a breeze to blow up. he he he. breeze. he he he.
    Sorry its late and I'm forcing myself to stay up past midnight to adjust to the time.

    Everyone has been saying how brave it is to move so far out west like this. But I feel its almost been inevitable for me. I wasn't ready two years ago, but I'm ready now.
    I have a bus pass. Bring it on.

    I miss Tusch though.

    hahaha the corny BC jokes start, and you start the process of becoming a laid-back, corny joke-loving, skechers/coverse wearing, yoga-inspired clothes loving, hiking obsessed vancouverite. Or is it vancouverian?

    I would like to say advanced "I told you"s for all the above reasons, and for any thing I might have missed but that I will think of later when I see you do something non-torontonian! :D
